Ingredients

  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup vegetable oil

  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

1. Prepare the Batter

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Grease and flour an 8-inch or 9-inch cake pan.
  3. In a large bowl, whisk together the yogurt, sugar, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing just until combined.

2. Bake the Cake

  1. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan.
  2. Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  3. Allow the cake to cool in the pan for 10 minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
